Cinco SP

There was this great text game called "Cinco" in an old PocketPC game pack. It was kind of a cross between hangman and mastermind. It would pick a five letter word (thus the title) and you'd have to guess it. For every guess it would tell you how many letters you had correct and how many you had in the correct position. The trick was that you had to use real words in your guesses.

I loved that game. Alas, the PPC gamepack doesn't work on smartphone. So I sat down and wrote my own version in .net. This is officially a Smartphone program, but it happens to work on PPC as well. On PPC there are a few ugly rough edges (especially the about box), but it works there. Unfortunately making it it able to deal with the PPC input panel made it unable to work on the desktop. So this will currently only work on Windows Mobile products. It will work on any WM release with .net, which is to say Windows Mobile 2003 and later.

This program is freeware, but if you give it to anyone, you must also give them an unchanged copy of the included readme file. You may not make money in any way from distributing this program unless you first get consent from me. If you really want to "pay" me in some way, get three friends to start reading my free science fiction serial, The Daily Dose.

CincoSP for Windows Mobile

This is the program. It will run on both Smartphone and PocketPC from WM 2003 and later. Current version is 1.6.
