This is an archive for the stories I've distributed with the newsletter (see Free Stories Delivered Right To Your Emailbox for more info on the newsletter).

Each story comes in two formats. HTML and Reader. HTML is for reading from your browser. Reader is for downloading to your e-book reader.

Like any artist, I crave feedback. If you have any opinions, positive or negative, on any of the stories you've found here, I'd love to hear from you at mikecal@mystikeep.com.

Despite their being published on the web and sent out in email, I continue to hold all copyrights to these stories. You are welcome to read them. You are encouraged to tell your friends about them. You are also encouraged to forward the newsletter to anyone who might be interested in it. However, my name must stay attached to the story at all times and you can not change the content of the story in any way other than formatting (as long as all the words are there, in their original order, I'm happy). If you wish to use any of these stories in a magazine, fanzine, e-zine, etc you must first get permission from me.

Hard Science Fiction
26 stories
4 September 2000
This is SF in its strictest sense. As far as anyone's concerned, the events in these stories could happen in the future. While there is often something in the story that is impossible with today's technology, it feels like the technology of the story could be possible with suitable advances in science. If anything contradicts known science, there's at least an attempt to explain why. These stories almost always take place in the future of a world something like ours.

These stories usually also take place in the present or future, yet have something non-scientific in them. For instance, a story that takes place on a space station but has angels in it. This is not to say that angels do or do not exist, just that there's no scientific basis for them. I don't feel that this form of SF is any better or worse than Hard SF, but there are people who like the former and dislike the latter, so I've separated them in my categories.
Fantasy
5 stories
1 July 2000
What you'd traditionally think of as fantasy. Magic, elves, sword fights, etc. Often these stories take place in what appears to be the past. I won't get into the discussion here whether Star Wars and Star Trek are HSF, SF, or Fantasy. It doesn't matter right now because I haven't yet written any stories that are similar to those.
SF/F
2 stories
31 July 2000
These are stories that have aspects of both SF and F in them. These will most likely be stories with two universes, one with technology and the other magic or stories in a universe where aspects of both exist.
